We are crowdfunding together with our partner tMinds who are providing teacher and student ICT training at secondary schools in Malawi, especially by planning and supporting university student internships. In order to collect and prepare equipment for these schools, we need funds for our workshop in Copenhagen which is operated by volunteers. Funds are split 50:50 between these causes.

Since 2008, FAIR Danmark (Fair Allocation of Infotech Resources) has worked to address global inequality through education and access to ICT equipment for students at secondary schools in Malawi. Based on this, we dare say that a minimum of 75,000 students have gained computer access at their schools.
You can read more about FAIR on this website, not least how your company can support us through partnership donations and reconditioning of ICT equipment.
The following video is from Mzuzu University, where tMinds is based. The new youth organization was started by staff and students at the university's Department of Information & Communication Technology.
FAIR Denmark is run 100% by volunteers. Thus, our main cost in Denmark is the rent of a workshop, where we receive and prepare computers for shipping. Getting funding to cover rent has proven difficult, on one hand because we went through a lengthy change-over, and on the other hand because funds and government grants do not support this activity. However, FAIR's existence and the projects we engage in rely on keeping the workshop.
The activities sustaining the primary objective are obviously happening in Malawi, and so we found it natural to combine the two efforts side by side. Collecting and preparing equipment happens solely with our local partners in mind. And one of them, tMinds, is a whole new organization, arising from the Computer Science department at Mzuzu University. We have worked with this department since 2013, and we know how skilled they are, and that they are equally altruistic an enthusiastic about their work as we are.. if not more! In the Fall of '17, they officially launched and had their first activities. FAIR supported a program for 4th year university students going on 2 month internship at 12 secondary schools, helping teachers implement ICT in their classes. This has to continue!
We understand that the model is generally c, so the more we can collect for tMinds, the more interns can help out in such outreach programs.
By reaching out to people personally or via social media, you can make as much a contribution as by supporting with your own money. For us, this is very important, and we urge you not to be shy to ask people for support.
